Deception Pass

Labor Day weekend we drove over to Larry's parents house on Widbey Island. To get there we can cross on the Ferry,
or go over Deception Pass. The Ferry wait was over 2 hours so this time we went over the Pass. It's definitely a long way
down to the water! We drove back over to the park on Saturday so we could walk along the beach.
We hiked the mile down to the beach and enjoyed the cool wind, it was in the 60's! There were a lot of fishermen and boats there. The girls were amazed as they watch one guy reel in a fish, then Grandpa Gordon took them over so they could actually
look at the fish. The fish had actually flopped it's way out of the guy's bag he had put him in and neither Lilly or Mia knew what
to think about that. Getting up closer to the ocean Grandpa kept finding little baby fish (most were dead) but he would hand them
to the girls and tell them to throw them back into the water to save them. Lilly was ecstatic about "saving" the fish.

The rest of the weekend we spent hanging out. I didn't want a weekend full of activities and it was nice just to relax and not have anywhere to be or go. We stayed up late and played Phase 10 while eating yummy desserts, there was wrestling with Ditto, running around the back yard, strolling through the mall and eating out. They built a new park close to their house that has a huge play set, kinda like the playground of dreams here but less crowded, so we explored the park. Inevitably, it all had to end and we drove home Monday morning, thankful that we weren't part of the traffic trying to get into Seattle AND even more thankful that we didn't have to make dinner...again.. we had hamburgers over at Mom & Dad's.
