What else did we do all the way back in June? Maybe this will shed some light onto why I got so behind in posting. :)
We had Gabe's 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony. He got all dressed up and all the 8th graders did a smaller/shorter version of the graduation walk at Edgar Brown Stadium. He didn't start his 4.0 goal until 7th grade, but he was recognized for maintaining a 4.0 gpa for his 8th grade year. Since he has made his goal to maintain a 4.0 he has been trying harder, and doing a little more in each class. All of the teachers that we talk to, LOVE HIM! Whenever there is a group assignment all of his classmates want to be in his group. It was hard for me to grasp that he could keep his 4.0 because he never seemed to have any homework, EVER!! But he was far enough ahead of most of the other kids that he was able to complete almost all of his assignments in class. This is one smart cookie which is just part of what makes him so unique and special!
To make a long story short- we are very proud of him which was what helped keep us in our seats during this rather long, and hot, ceremony! He's officially a Freshman now!!
Also:
Amelia went to her 1st Birthday Party for her friend from Church, Madeline.
Lilly brought home our 1st pet from SCHOOL! And yes, this was a surprise. She came off the bus with a big ol' smile on her face and carrying a tupperware container (a container she snuck into her bag that very morning). She named this guy "Simon" and since Lilly had a fish we had too...
... get Amelia a fish too. We were already at the pet store buying stuff for surprise Simon so why not? Well we learned why not later. But at the moment- everyone was ecstatic about the fish. Amelia named hers Princess Belle.
Unfortunately, both fish had to go to the fish Dr. shortly after they became part of our family. The Dr. said they couldn't come back home until we got a bigger fish bowl for the 2 of them. :)
