1-2-3 Read

So I've been having difficulty updating my blog lately- either I can't find time or when I try to upload my pictures- they don't upload. So, I know I have bypassed quite a bit but here's a new beginning and hopefully I'll get time to do some backdated posts.

This post is titled 1-2-3 Read because, well, the girls take 3 steps before they start reading.

1st step: Gather as many books as you can fit into the shopping cart & stroller.

2nd step: Take ALL the cushions OFF the couch and lay them neatly on the floor.

3rd step: Organize your books into a stack of which books you WANT to read and
and which books you just grabbed to fill up your cart.

Then on to reading.. which is pretty cute to see them lay side by side on the couch cushions which are now on the floor with their piles of book and then to LISTEN to them as they read. Lilly can read small words but they both use the pictures to tell the story. IT's reat to hear Amelia gasp and say "oh no- her shoe!" when she's reading Cinderella. Or to hear about Pinkie Pie Pony's birthday in Lilly's interpretation, "Pinkie Pie, you want a Pink Cake? Okay let's make you a Pink Cake and have Pink balloon's and Pink Drinks". The page she's reading doesn't even have a cake or balloon's, just a picture of Pinkie Pie and Lilly's imagination! I wish I'd had a camera THAT day but here's pictures from the next day.. or it might have even been the day after since they've begun this new reading time tradition.
