Mom's party wrap up

Other things to remember about Mom's party.

• Theme was 'need2create' so we had a present for each letter and then put the letters on the outside of the gifts to spell it out. We tried to make all the gifts creative and things that make us think of Mom. Namely- Yarn, Quilt Book, Dark Chocolate, Pictures from her grandkids, Red Buttons, Bracelets, Letter from her missionary, Her Scrapbook we made, Shoes!, Pin Cushion & a family picture from each of us.
• I cannot make Raspberry Lime water. Unless it's for a 'Fear Factor' or some other party where you have to drink yucky things.
• It was hilarious to listen to Mom talk about how weird it had been to find the cookie jar, mention in a previous post, sitting on a bucket in her kitchen. Even better was hearing Tiff tell her side of it.
• Get Dad to order any flower arrangements you need- he picked out an AMAZING one!
• I really need to get some trees or pergola in my back yard for extra shade. It was HOT!
• Most cute things you find on pinterest... are harder to make than they appear. Namely, large pinwheels, scrap garlands (although Tiff rocked these), and printing on brown lunch bags. We had several other ideas but just ran out of time trying to get these items ready.
• Dad's got a video of most of the decorations and of Mom opening her gifts- we should watch it sometime.
• Bocce ball is an awesome lawn game!
• Being so rushed to get things done (literally down to the last minute) and not having any time to change out of my sweats and t-shirt i'd been wearing all day. Yeah.. I looked good.
• Taking pictures while trying to enjoy the party is harder than it seems. It'd be nice to be able to hire a photographer or even just an acquaintance to just snap shots throughout the party. (as evident by the lack of additional photos during the party)
• Mom's Pink lemonade cake turned out really yummy!
• Mom WAS surprised- yeah- and said she'd never had a party like this before- AND she loved it!!

 

even though I turned into a crazy headless chicken...

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
