Gage got a mostly free day from helping out. We didn't let him do any of the cleaning but he did help watch the girls while the rest of us cleaned. He also got to play video games as much as he wanted and just "hang out" with the boys. Since we had done dinner out the night before- we had pizza for dinner.
He opened up his presents after dinner, he got some really cool hockey pillow cases from Grammy & Papa along with some money, Jared got him some packs of football cards and we got him a new wallet.
We tried to prolong the fun by wrapping a decoy gift- in the big box we wrapped up a Rock Band Guitar with a note on it saying "You didn't really think we were going to actually buy you a guitar, did you?" His last present was a card and in it we had a note telling him to sing a song for the rest of his presents. He was a little hesitant at first- not wanting to sing- but he came around and sang the little ditty we put together.
Boy, was he glad he sang the short song. On his bed he found four more presents. An Amp, a chord, guitar picks and tada.. a guitar. It wasn't just any guitar though, it is a replica of Deryk's guitar from Sum 41- which happens to be his favorite band! He was really excited - he even carried the guitar to the table to eat ice cream..
Being all caked out from Mom's bday and then Lilly's we opted to just have ice cream for Gage's birthday. We put candles on the ice cream bucket so he could blow them out and make a wish. We then scooped out ice cream into bowls and wach made our own ice cream sundae!
