lightning in a bottle: BDay BBQ

We had a little party/bbq on Saturday to give Gage & Lilly their "big" presents that we couldn't take with us on vacation. Larry grilled some yummy steaks for us and we had the pleasure of meeting Josh's new girlfriend & Gage's good friend as well. It was also good timing since Casey & Kathryn were both here too.

Grammy, Gage, Lilly, Amelia, Kylie & Kathryn. Gage's present this year was a laptop. He saved his money all summer and so between his money and his bday money he was able to purchase one. He was pretty pleased with everything!

A NEW CAR!

She was a little hesitant, maybe because of all of us watching, so she sat in her car for a minute but didn't want to do anything else. Amelia solved the problem quickly by

Climbing over to the driver side and taking over.

She did wait and let Lilly into the passenger side.

And off they drove all over the backyard. It was a little bumpy as Amelia would push on the gas, then let go, push.. let go. You get the idea. Amelia also wasn't very good and turning the steering wheel so she ran into us a couple times.

Lilly decided she'd like to drive after all! This led to several arguments on who got to drive.

We started a volleyball game afterwards which Lilly & Amelia drove through the middle of quite often. On the far side we have Uncle Casey, Jared, & Larry. This side is Papa, Gage, Kylie & Kathryn. What we didn't know before playing is that Kylie plays HS Volleyball and she was pretty good. I didn't play this round because I had finally gotten my coughing under control and I didn't want to have it come back so I didn't press my luck. Here's a nice shot of Kylie jumping to get the ball.

Papa jumping to spike the ball against Larry- it was pretty cool to watch. Mom was taking the pictures so I was able to really watch the game more than usual. I was also amazed with uncle Casey- he was moving around pretty fast- especially after working all day already.
