We started our day off by going to the Pasco Parade. As part of Gabe's summer band class they got to march in the parade. So we sat with the Pofahls on the sidewalk to watch the parade. This is the first time we've ever been to the parade. My favorite part of parades is the anticipation of what's to come next- now I know with a small town parade it wasn't going to be like the ones I recall where there are tons of floats- but it was still pretty fun. The kids got candy thrown to them, watched dancers, listened to the band and saw a bunch of old cars drive by. The cutest part for me was listening to Lilly & Grace saying "Happy Birthday America!" over and over. It was easier for Lilly to understand a celebration of a birthday then for me to explain the whole Independence Day to her so I was grateful to Grace for sharing that with Lilly.
Gabe was very excited to be marching in the parade when we dropped him off. Once we picked him up he said it was hard work marching because it was soo hot outside and he was thirsty. He did say though that he was glad he wasn't playing the tuba!
